Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!

I love that our nation has begun celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday!
Our kids were asked to dress up like a favorite character from literature... What a fun idea.
Cole loves being Uncle Sam. It is his favorite character to dress up as. Luckily, we had about 20 books to choose from. How cute is my Uncle Sam!

Bright... Well, anyone who knows Bright knows that he is all about battles, warriors and weapons. While that may sound wonderful and patriotic... It can cause problems in writing class when he chooses to write about bloody wars in detail every time he is asked to do a creative writing project. We are working on teaching him when it is appropriate. He is a great writer and has a fantastic imagination.

We let Brighton read with a flashlight at night before he falls asleep. A few days ago he came in to tell me that he had just finished Harry Potter 3. He was so excited! I had bought him Harry Potter 2 and 3 two days before. I asked him if he meant that he just finished the second book. Nope, he read THEM BOTH in 36 hours. This kid LOVE TO READ!
