4th of July!

I KNOW!!!!! SHE IS PERFECTION!!!!
Honestly, I can't get enough of her. I wake up in the middle of the night and I miss her. (Yes, she is in the next room, and yes, I can hear her snoring over the baby monitor. But I get excited about when it will be morning and I will get to go in and get her. She is perfection and delicious in every way!)

We performed at the Mission Viejo Street Fair with Kids Are Music tonight. The kids did a great job on the show. Bill went this morning at 9:30 to set up, and then stayed all day in the crazy hot weather to watch over our equiptment. I brought the kids at 5:00pm. Man, I married so well!! And then, when everyone else was having to park over a mile away by that time, I pull up to the front... litterally the FRONT SPACE, and there is a cone blocking the space, that yes, my husband had reserved for me. I am so crazy in love with that man!!! He came up and met me at the front and said, "See the coned off first space..." and I was like, "No you didn't!" I adore him in every way!!!

4th of July, 2010

This year the Fourth of July fell on a Sunday... and since we don't live in Utah, all of the celebrations were on the actual 4th!

Kids Are Music always performs on the 4th of July... but since it was a Sunday, I got to reall relax and enjoy the 4th this year. After church we packed a picnic and went to the Aliso Viejo Community Park. We had a wonderful, incredibly relaxing evening!!! It was really neat!
So... Funny story.
You know how I always make my family wear matching clothes? Well, we were sitting by a big hill, and all the kids were playing with this man that was blowing millions of bubbles. It was so cute! Cole, in his excitement, knocked over a little toddler twice. It was totally by accident, and he did not even realize it happened... but the mom of the little girl brought Cole over to me by the arm and said, "Is this your little boy?" Picture me and Bill in the EXACT SAME OUTFIT COLE WAS WEARING!!! I wanted desperately to say, "No, what makes you think so?" But this woman was clearly not in the mood for funnies. She chewed me out from being an inattentive mom. Oh well... I am over it. I just thought it was hilarious... Is this your son????

Flag Waiving Glorious Fourth!!!

We had such an AMAZING Fourth of July!!!!

8:30am Fresh Strawberries and Cream in Bed in our beautiful hotel room at the Marriott Fisherman's Wharf!

9:30am meet the group to catch a Cable Car up to the Cable Car Museum

10:00am Tour the Cable Car Museum and watch the penny picture shows of old town San Francisco


10:45am Ride the Cable Car to the Embarcadero Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building and perform for the crowds. (Also... eat tons of yummy fresh fruit and produce and homemade candy samples! YUMMY!)

1:00pm Boudin Bakery Performance - The entire place was packed and our kids were darling!!

1:15pm Boudin Bakery Tour - It was really neat to see such a huge bakery tour.
And to see what they can make out of the bread!

And this sourdough bread Alligator was amazing!

Then we had free time to get lunch on your own. Of course I had a sourdough bread bowl with Clam Chowder! But Bill wanted to try the crab from the street venders that were right on the water there. It was so fantastic and fresh!

You choose your crab, then he puts it in this HUGE pot of boiling salt water, and cooks it for about 3 minutes. Then he takes it out and chop chops it right there in front of you, and then you eat it. Delicious! Best $14 we spent on the entire trip!






After lunch, I took Cole back to the hotel for a nap, and Bill took Brighton to see the Cannon loading at Fort Point. I hear it was great fun.

6:30pm - Meet up with the group at the bottom of Ghirradelli Square and tour the grounds with impromptu shows! The crowds LOVED our kids!

7:30pm - Board the USS Jerimiah O'brien World War 2 Liberty War Ship.

We were the main entertainment and it was an incredible experience. We had a huge crowd who loved the patriotism of our kids, and then we got prime seating for the terrific fireworks display over the bay!

Root... Root... Root for the Angel's!!!

We had such a FUN night at the Angel's Game!
We had 64 people in our group, and so we were surrounded by good friends. There were 14 families total.
Lanes, Challain, Lightles, Allizadehs, Collins, Bostroms, Olsens, Verhaegens, Tustins, McConnells, Tavares, Johnsons, Malkins, Kearns.

It was so great to see my dear friend Julie Bostrom and her cute hubby and kids again. I miss them so much, and I always love spending time with them. Her husband Craig is really fun. Ally and Andrew are always great with my boys.


Brighton loved playing on the stairs and the hand rails with his buddies.

It was wonderful to play and enjoy grammy and papa. They were so much fun.















Billy's best thing was watching the fireworks with his sexy wife and adorable little boys.

















Cole's best thing was playing with daddy and Papa and Brighton all day.

























This was Cole's absolute highlight of the day. Papa would count 1-2-3 and Cole would jump up in the air, and Papa would lift him way up high! Sometimes having a 24 hour backpack with a handle is not all that bad. What a great papa!















Brighton's Best thing was the Bike Parade at the church this morning right after the pancake breakfast. He LOVES to ride his bike superfast, and he is always a good sport about wearing his pads and helmet.









































Charise's best thing was her fantastic Kids Are Music kids and the fun they all had together performing at the Aliso Viejo event. There were 25 performers from 20 fantastic families... and they each mean the world to us. The kids ROCKED! They looked and sounded great. There were probably 1,500 people in the audience. People came up to us all evening saying how great the kids sounded. I am so proud of them!
